manifold experiment

hey everyone, i just got a set of s5 manifolds and i was wondering if anyone would like to be interested in seeing what s5 mani's do on a s4. im not talking butt dyno or anything. im talking about doing a pull on my s4 t2 with the s4 mani then doing it with the s5 manifolds. my t2 is completly stock except for a port. well it wont take place for atleast 4 to 6 weeks only cause im so broke i think it will be cool to see if they are that much beter.

thanks

Gabe

Man, if you can swing that...it would be intresting....

However, what if you did a complete swap. Did the dyno with your S5 manifold and hotside.

Then swaped in a S4 manifold and S4 hotside. Leaving the compressor housing the same for both tests?

i might, but its really just to see if there is really that much of a gain and to see if the the tq curve is better on a stock s4 motor

i have the TII S4 lower and S5 upper manifolds on my S4, no before or after dyno but the low end is laggy as hell. the runner length is as long as you manage since the S4 lower manifold is longer than the S5 and the S5 upper is longer than the S4. pulls like a raped ape up top but like a snail off the line with a large streetport and 11lb flywheel.

now if i can just find a spot to get it fully tuned, i want traction issues in 3rd with the 285's!

so ok by what you said, if you want crazy top end, s4 lower and s5 upper, im guessing if you want more tq then s5 lower and s4 upper? interesting... when i do my dyno pull i will be useing both s4 manis for the first pull and both s5 manis for the second pull.

I'd be very interested in your results. The next thing I need to address is the exhaust, and what better time to replace a manifold.....or not, depending on your results.
