AAAHHHH the joys of being an ****-RETENTIVE Design Professional. Since I live by the MANTRA:"Why would I buy something for $20 when I can make it for $75.00!"

I am fabricating my new fuel rails; for two reasons:
1. Why not
2. The fuel rails that came with the TB from Aussiland will not work with my airbox

NOW: onto the dilemma I measure the Fuel Injector bore on the Aussie Rails as 0.430". So I order my ream to replicate this hole. Now My maching capabilities in the shop are very limited as our most peoples. So I visit my welding and fab forum to confirm my process. And low and behold who pops in but Mike-LMR to provide the missing tidbit of information I needed. He provided me the link to the injector dimensional drawings.

NOW the real fun begins. It appears that the injector rails I used as my template are a little sloppy on their manufacturing tolerances. The correct bore size is .425" nominal/.427" max.

So now I need to order ANOTHER Reamer (These things aren't cheap)..

I hope this provides a little insight into why it takes a while to accomplish something as seemingly simple as drilling 2 holes in a length of extruded Aluminum.

I've got a set of 98 GSXR750 TB's w/fuel rail and TPS(compatible with my fuel computer). The injector used in those are the same size top(11mm) and bottom(9mm) as the S5 injectors. You only need to use a spacer(about 1cm) and a longer mounting bolts to move the fuel rail out some.

I've got someone fabbing up the intake manifold. I'm working on an air box that incorporates velocity stacks. Air to be piped in from the front of car ofcourse.

Banzai - Don't mean to hijack your thread, I just gotta share my intake project also. Your setup looks great. Will you be doing any autocrosses in the Atlanta area or are you still anti SCCA.

Good deal. Maybe I'll get to meet you there. Another event to consider if your time and money permit is the Talladega Gran Prix event. I believe its #7 on the Atlanta schedule. A bit of a drive for you though as its 90 miles west of atlanta.

Latest concept of the intake plenum:

Still needs some refinement. This is just a mock-up with foamboard and some 2 1/4" CS Mandrel bent tube. The pics also show the cut-up AL TII hood I am using to check clearances

Why have you mated the intake runners to the TB at such a terrible angle?

Like I said, this is the first test fit.

I will be rotatating the bend tommorow so it has a straighter transiton. It just got too cold in the shop tonight to continue playing. So I took some pics and came in to play with the Cadd Drawings

Thank you banzai for sharing those pics of that motor mount, I can't believe that I didn't think it'd be that easy to fit an earlier engine into a FC..

...now about that agressive bridge-port of '85 vintage my mate is selling..... weeeee!!

Im sure it will sound the same as any other bridge ported seven. Remember the 900 some odd horse 20B 3rd gen seven that was done in australia? that thing had independant throttle bodys on each PP as well, except 3 of em cause it was a 20B. that thing sounded pretty damn mean!

After a couple slices on the band saw and a few quick tacks with HH175 MIG:
I have a much nicer runner. HMMMMM, now to go see if I have another mandrel 2 1/4" 180º Bend somewhere.

Once I get this mocked up, the whole shooting mtch will be replicated in AL
