Man....can't bust a nut..
Hey all
Just wanted to say hi to all of you since I'm new. But also I have a question about that huge nut on the flywheel. I just got my jspec and wanna put on lightweight flywheel. My impact wrench won't do it. I tried with breaker bar, but i don't have good flywheel stopper. What I was wondering is if I could heat up the nut. Would that damage a pilot bearing or any seals?

My friend took his engine to a local mom & pops tire shop and they busted out a HUGE impact gun. It seemed that they were looking for any excuse to use it and charged him 3 bux to loosen the nut.

If you have a big prybar, you can turn the flywheel such that the prybar rests on the little round nubs sticking off of it. Turn the nut with the wrench until the prybar is resting on the ground with tension applied when you turn the nut. Have someone hold that prybar in place, put your breaker bar on the bolt and jump lightly on the breaker bar until the bolt pops. Did this yesterday with my front pulley bolt.

if you have a spare pressure plate....bolt it onto the flywheel to form a horizontal 8. then try unscrew that nut... thats what i did after my angle bar was bent to hell.
