Well, there's no way for us to be sure if you don't post the actual how-to itself, but I'm sure it works. Lots of guys have made their own FCDs, it's not a very complex design and they're pretty easy to install. Go for it!

P.S. Here's a link to a write up I know works for sure: http://www.fc3s.org/fcd.html

I made mine last week. It's time consuming, but I'd rather spend time than money. There are only a few parts to solder, but plan the board carefully. I spread my components out all over the board and used jumper wires for connections. Be sure to place the trimmer in a spot that can be easily accessed for adjustment. There is a screw on the end that is a tune for the exact voltage that is sent to the ECU. Get a MM before you start, you'll need it for testing and diagnosis if something should go wrong.
I did a search of some other threads on this subject.

I think I figured out how it goes together except for 1 small detail. Mine is off the FC3s org site as well. The R3 adjustable resister has three prongs Which one goes to ground and which on goes to Vref.
Thanks

I know this thing pretty well, just post any problems you run into and I'll talk you through them. I bothered him for two weeks before I even bought the parts just to make sure I could do it with very little soldering experience. Once you get going and understand the component, you'll be surprised how easy it really is.

That's the problem I had, no pictures to go by. There aren't a lot of parts, just spread them out on the board and use jumper wires for the connections. I'll try to take pictures of mine this weekend and post them on Monday.

Good job!!!!
I didn't glue the board down, just in case I had to do some repairs to it in the future. I put the board in the box and siliconed the wires as they came out of the box to keep them from rattling around.

Well I installed it . it worked fine on start up but once the car was warm(normal) the coolant buzzer sounds and it never did that before. I checked the coolant and all the connections that i was near but nothing. I even disconnected the boost sensor and the buzzer stopped. What do you think??????

Yep, everything was fine. I'm starting to think it has nothing to do with it. I went over all my connections 100 times. and all I have to do is turn the ignition on and the buzzer sounds. I've checked every thing I know to check. Man this sucks. I don't want to drive it untill I figure it out.

What???? That's really weird. It has to ve coincidence. Find the coolant level wires and check for a short. I can't believe the boost sensor has anything to do with the coolant buzzer.

Mine work! but i cannot get the stock turbo to build more then 9psi? I have a mech boost controller, opened it all the way still 9psi. Do you think resetting the ecu could help??

BTW, if you have a MBC that’s fully open and you’re not boosting through the roof, you’ve installed it wrong...

Well, I made A whole new FCD because the other one kept setting the coolant buzzer off. I took the car out buzzer sounding now intermitantly. Put my foot into it and the FCD worked perfect with buzzer going on and off. Then I started to smell coolant.
It was the freaking coolant hose under the oil filter. The buzzer warned me before it completly went. How is that for a coincidence. Now i'll take it apart and order a new hose. Now I guess I have an extra FCD.
