Main engine fuse soldered itself in place?WTF
I am wondering if this has happened with other people?
I was driving and my car just died. I tried to pop the clutch while still rolling and it would not fire off. So, I checked fuses in the car and the engine fuse was blown. I replaced it and it blew it immediately. Then I went to pull the 80A fuse from under the hood and it has soldered itself in place. I have looked over a lot of the wiring harness to try and find a bare wire or something that would cause a short, but I have not had any luck.
If someone with more experience could possibly point me in a good direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nolan
P.S. It is an 87T2

it isn't soldered in place it is bolted... from the factory. pull the housing nuts off to turn the fuse holder sideways and pop the 2 side covers open to access the 2 bolts that hold it in place.
the fuse actually is for the charging system mainly so i would suspect you have a problem with the alternator wiring or the alternator failed.

IF your talking about the 15 amp ENGINE fuse, it supplys power to the MAIN RELAY, the CIRCUIT OPENING RELAY and THE FUEL PUMP. Check it out and see if I'm right or not. Could be the fuel pump shorting out.
