Magnaflow XL mufflers?

Does anyone here have any experience with Maganflow's XL 3 Chamber mufflers?

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=303

I'm looking to get a Magnaflow to put in place of the straight midpipe from my RB header, to quieten the exhaust down. i was originally looking at their standard SS oval mufflers, but saw these 3 chamber mufflers and figured they might do even better for sound reduction.

only thing i'm really worried about is the effect it has on flow (obviously going to create more backpressure, but how much more). or maybe these mufflers aren't a good idea? i can't really find much info.

those mufflers are not going to flow great better than say an OE muffler but not great. your better off going the rout that may have and use a Borola XR-1 muffler as a presilencer

Well, what i am thinking right now is (from the RB header):

Magnaflow SS offset oval 4x9 -> 2.5 inch pipe -> Magnaflow 6 inch round race series muffler

this will be a single-exit system, to reduce cost and weight.

but i don't know if that will be quiet enough.

right now have header -> straight pipe -> y-pipe -> 2 N1-style cans and it is insanely loud.

I use 2 magna flow SS now. I am not sure of those chamber mufflers can hold up to the exhaust heat of a rotary but it would realyl quiet your system down. I say for the price give it a shot and post the results. Thats the only way to find out of **** works.

I hate when everyone always uses the same stuff and never tries anything different. I was one of the first to try a borla XR-1 on my second gen because I was lucky enuff to hear one on a single converted 3rd gen and I instantly fell in love with the "Italian Sports Car" sound. Another friend suggested the Magnaflow SS over the borla for a even deeper sound so when I built my 4 inch exhaust I went with 2 of them.
