LSD or Flywheel problems?

My car will slip when going up a hills or getting on it with boost (rpms rise but no accleration). First reaction was the clutch.

There is clutch left.

Second was flywheel was glazed. I can't tell with out taking it apart but i seems to catch fine driving in town.

I was wondering what the symptoms of a bad lsd is. It's prolly stock and never had it oil changed and has about 223k miles on it.

It's weird b/c it just happened out of no where. I wasn't driving it hard for about a week or so.

My car jerks a bit between 3-4k but it's better after regrounding.

is it time for a FD torsion or a new flywheel ?

well first off the FD torsion diff is basically inferior to the S4 clutch-type.

however if the LSD was gone then you'd just spin one of your tires. definitely not the LSD.

Its torsen (TORque SENsing). Im not sure why you think the torsen LSD is inferior to a clutch type, they both have their very distint strengths and weaknesses. Both have immediate lockup, the torsen maybe moreso than the clutch. The only disadvantages of the torsen are that it can be broken (although usually requires alot of HP, and launching with slicks) and that If one wheel is lifted off the ground, that wheel will get all of the power. Torsen works by torque multiplying.. So If one wheel starts to slip, it can transfer a certain amount of torque to the other wheel. Well if one wheel is in the air, theres 0 resistance, so 0 X whatever = 0. A clutch type LSD can wear out, and cause some funny cornering situations when clutch packs lockup (not usually a problem with stock ones though)

Anyway, to your problem Sesshoumaru, it sounds like a clutch slipping, either due to worn clutch, glazed flywheel, etc.. Definately not a LSD or rear end problem..

If your clutch disk is fine as you stated. The its either the flywheel needs to be resurfaced or the pressure plate is bad and isn't providing enough pressure.
