which LSD best for drifting
#3
My guess would be clutch type. But then again i have NO REAL drift experience.. best to ask J-rat, hes "da man" as some would say.
*edit* no, the stock T2 lsd (viscious coupling) is not prone to failure. (so ive heard)

The S4 clutch-type differential, with the friction modifier left out of the differential (just normal GL-4 gear oil, no LSD additive) will be the most effective. Noisy and rough for street use, but great for drifting.

heh torsen is great.
But for drift, I think the added flexibility of using a clutch type will come in handy so you can setup rates under accel/decel etc.

LOL!! Thanks!
Honestly, I just drift on the stock S4 LSD. Maybe I am not the man after all?

I highly doubt your LSD is still functioning within spec by now.

mazda sells the parts, then use some shim stock and shim it up tighter. its pretty much the same for all cars with clutch type lsd's so do a web search on lsd rebuilds and it will show you how to do it.
