low coolant, bouncy idle

Cant really find an answer on the board, been searching for a bit. Heres my situation:

Car had very high idle, I reduced it from 3k to 2k but it started flooding almost everytime I tried starting it.

Tweaked with some idle settings a bit more, got it down to around 1k but the only way I can do so is if my tps is out of adjustment. It still has a bouncy idle until warmed up a bit, then drops to ~750. Also, the flooding issue has lessoned.

Also, ever since I got the idle down, i run low on coolant in about 20 minutes worth of driving. However, I cannot see a leak, and the car NEVER smokes, so Im not thinking coolant seals. And my temp gauge never goes up more then an 1/8th of an inch from the C

Things Ive done/replaced so far:

TPS -Replaced
Idle air mixture sensor (variable resistor) -Replaced
Disconnected the bac valve, same idle.
New thermostat (previous owner didnt even have one in?!?!)
followed the fsm procedure on burping the system.

So far, nothing has totally resolved the issue.

Any ideas?
Also thanks in advance for any advice!!!!!

same thing happened to me bro. . .the prv. owner had no thermostat in to keep it constantly cool and the coolant wouldn't go down. . .I believe to mask the real problem. A bad coolant seal. I've researched and found many others with the same scenario. I'd do a compression test just to be safe.

wouldnt it smoke though? and I put in the thermostat, still no overheating, and like I said, no smoke what-so-ever. also, dont you get bubbles in your coolant if thats that case?

Do a compression test. If that fails then there is not point in going any further with your diag. If that passes, then rent a coolant system pressure tested and see if it will hold pressure.

checked compression, three even pumps on both rotors, to about 90 maybe 100. So I think Im good there, did a complete coolant flush today as well, so far so good. but i have time tomorrow to the junkyard, any suggestions?
