It's supposed to do that.

Hence the warning on the cap: Do not remove when hot or hot coolant comes out and scalds you.

the only thing i havent checked is the water pump itself cause the car is now parked and getting a single TO4 turbo added to it so i havent got a chance to see if the water pump does the trick or not.

mine had tons of deposits in the cooling system which i thought was my problem but it wasnt but i would have the cooling system flushed real good and run a good cleaner through the system as a first before i went tearing the water pump off.

sounds like a classic case of a broken water jacket in one of your irons, after starting the car cold grab the upper radiator hose with the cooling system sealed and see how long it takes to feel like it is pressurizing like a balloon, if it takes less than a minute then i would have to say it is time to tear down the engine. there is no other reason that much pressure could be getting into the cooling system aside from gasses from the combustion chamber.
