a lot fixed but still have some coolant issues
I got my 88 TII to idle, not quite right, but I'm more concerned with something else. The add coolant light/buzzer keeps going on and off for seconds at a time. It's not like when I take a turn or something; I'll just be in 2nd going in a strait line and it'll come on for a few seconds and then go off. Anyway, I came to a stop and the light/buzzer WASN'T on but the car kept heating up. It got about half way up on the temp gauge and I turned it off.
Here's what I think may be going on.. there's a metal coolant "line" around the turbo, you have to take it off to get the turbo out. It had a gasket I lost when I took it off. Is it possible that air is getting into that spot and causing pockets in the system?

I don't know if this helps, but here's a picture of the coolant line in question.
I borrowed the pic from another post I had, I believe it's Jason's engine bay, hope you don't mind.

On the pressure side of the cooling system, you can't "suck" air into the system - it will just barf out coolant.
First off, find and fix any coolant leaks - you can usually smell even the smallest of leaks. Next, make sure the radiator is topped up - the buzzer goes off when there's air in the top of the radiator.
It's probably something really simple.
