Looking for Rx7
Im thinking of buying an Rx7 2nd gen. convertible (I live in CAlifornia)
My questions are:
1) Should I get the convertible or the hardtop
2) IS the convertible roof reliable?
3) Im 6 feet 2 inches wiht long legs, does the convertible have enough legroom for me?
4) Is there a convertible FAQ here?
Thanks
In addition: What is with the flooding and warmup problems with all rx7's? How do I avoid this...

Here's your answer:
1) Get the hard top: see 2 and 3 below--as well, turbo is the way to go, if you like speed and no verts came from factory with turbo
2) No, the vert's top tears around the rear sides--it will cost you at least $300 in materials, plus labor to fix the top.
3) No, I'm 5 feet 7 inches and there's barely enough leg room for me
4) No, there's no vert FAQ per se; however most of verts in US are 88 and later, so 86-88 are S4 and 89-91 are S5.
Flooding is a common problem, especially with S4 models.
What warmup problems? If engine doesn't start, or dies unless you step on gas, the engine's most likely blown. Avoid overheating a rotary. Do a search on flooding and warmup, and you will find a ton of info.
