Locating and fixing the FPD...I have seached

Before you slay me rest assured i have searched the archives...that being said let me continue...

My 88 TII reaks of gas....i obviously have a leak....I just recieved my banjo bolt in the mail today straight from the uk, and hope to replace the FPD with it ASAP...before the car can make smores....I've seen the posts of the banjo bolt and dont really need any info on that at this time ....but....

First I would like to check the FPD's screw to make sure that it is not the culprit...where is the FPD and how hard is it to get to the screw without removing anything, ive read contrary posts of people removing a lot of stuff including the upper intake manifold just to get to the FPD.....If i do have to remove a bunch of stuff about how long will it take for two dudes to do?....If it is just the screw on the FPD that is the leak then I will wait a few more weeks before sending the injectors off to be cleaned and rebuilt.....Pictures would be nice but they are not a huge deal...my friend paul is coming over tommorrow morning to help the situation but he said the s4 and s5 differ somehow in the placement of the FPD....mine being the s4 of course......

The S4 PD is on the forward end of the primary fuel rail, under the intake manifold (upper). In order to access and repair it, it will be necessary to take off the entire TB and the upper intake manifold.

It took me a while to take all that off the first time. but having done it a hundred times now, its a snap.

As far as the Banjo bolt, I dont know...I replaced my rail with an S5 TII rail which has the integrated PD.

Hey there. Not to be anooying, which is already annoying, but I just did a search using "pulsation damper" in the 2nd gen section and I found a bunch of stuff including this thread, https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=114684 .

You can only fix it by removing the UIM so it will take some time. How much time? I would spend the day on it, or at least plan to because you never know what will happen.

The S4 and S5 have it in the same place but the design is different. The S5 doesn't have the problems the S4 does because it doesn't have the cheap plastic piece that cracks.

On the NA its on the forward end. On a TII its on the rearward end.

Placement of the PD is the same, its the fuel rail spacer and bolts that are different. The base of your 88 one is going to be a lot thicker than your 89 one. I was able to use my 88 spacer, but it didnt fit exactly right. I had to dig up some short bolts out of my parts bin.

Hey FW (can I call you that?) correct me if I am wrong:

S4 N/A PD is forward, S4 TII Pd is aft. And its reversed on the S5. Thats why my N/A has an S5 TII rail.
