Light throttle hesitation/shudder on a TII

I've got an '87 TII with 63k miles on it with about 2k on a reman engine. Anyway, a few days it started hesitating during light throttle, in between 2000-3000 rpm. This pretty much makes it impossible to smoothly cruise between 20-40 mph. I added an over the weekend, but it's only like 160 watts. Any thought?

when was the last time you changed the fuel filter? some times if it's been a while that's what will happen.

disconnect what I assume is an amp and try again. If no luck, check your tps. If still no luck, measure tps voltage at the ecu while driving, and watch for drop outs co-inciding with hesitations.

I haven't changed the filter yet, so I'll give that a shot. And disconnecting the amp does seem like a pretty obvious trouble shooting step. TPS did cross my mind, that thing seems like a very common failure point.

The load of the Amp may have been just enough to find a weak ground.

Actually, there was an improper ground. My A/F gauge was not grounded properly. Redid it again this morning, seems to have fixed the problem. I'm guess that the power coming in for the light in the gauge was messing up the reading the ECU was getting from the sensor since there was no ground. I probably took it out for some strange reason while hooking the amp up.

Maybe check the firewall to bell housing primary ground also.
It's a cheesy clip on connector. - Bolt it down.
It also helps to add an alternator frame to coil pack mount ground.
