License plate dented bumper

So a while back I bought a 91 NA... The license plate frame/holder in the front has been on it so long and has been putting pressure on the bumper, that it made two indentions in the front. Does anybody know a way to get rid of these bumps? My idea was to use a heat-gun with the bumper off and push it back out... let it cool.. heat it up... push it out.... rinse repeat until it looked better.. My only concern is I could accidentally hose the bumper if I let it get to hot and it warps even more out of shape. Anyways.. any advice is appreciated. And yes I searched...

Use a hair dryer and push from the rear. You should be able to pop it back in shape. A heat gun will easily burn the paint before the bumper softens.
