Sorry fellas

I'm still waiting for my friend to return from South America, so we can install the final (Smoked ) roof in his T2. He should be back on Monday.

As soon as we install and post pick, I will begin the group buy for the first 25

anyone know if they make coloured lexan (i know plexiglass is available in every colour imaginable)? Cause a transparent colour matched panel would look killer

Ok..... the final roof is ready. We will install it in my boys T2 on Sat. who is already back from South America. If all goes well, I will start a new thread with new pictures and the Install. I will also begin the group buy for the first 25 roofs. I will give a 3 week window for everyone who is interested to save the $165.

Also we would like to see the finished product from the inside. What are the passengers in my car going to see? Thats my main concern. They are sweet no doubt but i want to see the inside view of screws rails etc. Thx

We ran the car at 120mph with no shaking at all. We are in the process making some improvements on the roof, so that it fits just a hair tighter. We could'nt get much done today because of the holiday.

The tint that the roof comes with is a light bronze. It's not as dark as in the pictures we posted earlier. You guy's can always have them tinted , to what ever shade you like. Our first prototype is still in my friends car, and it's yet to bubble.

We're having the company cut us a new roof, so that we get perfect fitment. None of our prototypes have leaked water yet, but we want to make sure the roof is perfect b4 we begin the group buy. We're having a Florida meeting this weekend and we hope to have the final roof ready.

I'll keep you posted

I'd definitely be interested in finding out more about these when you've got pricing info.

One question - what do you mean by it letting the roof slide back as normal?

What I have now is just the solid roof, and I'd love to replace it with glass if possible (though my sunroof isn't rusted at all, so perhaps I'm being rediculous).

But would love to find out more...

I meant it opens and closes like a normal roof. It's not fixed in the closed position

It should not have to fit too tight.
It just has to keep out bugs & debris.

The original panel was not water tight, it relied on the tray & drain tubes inside to drain any water that got in.

Tint film works fine on the rear hatch glass, so it should do well on the roof panel also.

Great news

well after 6 prototypes, we finally got the perfect fit. It took us all day shaving off a little here and there, but it payed off in the end.

We have decided to go with the clear glass, and tintthem ourselves, because the bronze factory tint was not dark at all. (too much light!!!)

We finished at night, so we could'nt take daytime pics (Tomorrow). My boys car has some serious rust problems, but yu can still see how good it looks. Tomorrow we will take pics from the inside and open.

We drilled a new hole further down on the rail, so that it takes the shape of the stock roof

Rust

Check out that perfect fit
