Rotary Avaiation. Bought their kit twice now.

They use Hurley 2 Piece Seals. They only use 1 spring.. these things are a snap to install compared to the Mazda 3pc ones.
Their kit also comes with Teflon encapsulated O-rings. Very fancy. All other O-rings are VITON as well.
It comes with enough to overhaul an engine that wasnt badly damage.
$519 is a hell of a deal.
You will have to buy your own intake manifold gasket though. You also need a oil pan gasket if you wish to use one. I just used the supplied RTV for the oil pan and front cover. Didnt leak a drop for the year or so I drove it.
I think it's probably the best deal out there if you are willing to use Hurley 2 pc seals. Some people dont like them some people do. Personally I love them and had good experience with them.

I do not believe that RA's seals are Hurley. I asked them specifically if their seals had any relation to Hurley or Atkins and they said that they did their own R&D for these seals. It even says on their web site that their seals are better than competitors (Hurley, Atkins). From what I have read on here and they have told me, RA's seals are a bit harder than stock seals and as such take a bit longer to break in. Have not read any complaints about them yet though.

If you look at the table on that Rotary Aviation page, you'll see there are some things not included in the $519 set that you'd probably want in your rebuild if you don't want to do it all again in a little while. I, for one, need the oil seals.

www.revolutionrotary.com was the cheapest I found. You still have to by the side seals and side seal springs. I bought, them and was very pleased.

OEM is not necesarily better. Mazda has to make so many for the production cars back in the day and still make a profit so they didnt go all out to provide the best parts for the racer in mind. Aftermarket parts can be better in some cases with weight, strength and price drops...I guess

mazda doesn't know what it likes.
they went from 2 piece to 3 piece back to 2 piece.
this is becuase there are advantages/disadvantages for the seals.
2 piece transfers heat better and doesn't have the "hot" spots like the 3 piece design.
the 3 piece design was to allow for better sealing at lower rpm. They then went back after the problems with the heat transfer.
