my wolf can set the on/off temp. I raised it a little bit the other day to see if it will shut off while driving, problem is I now cannot tell when the fan is on or off because I lost the use of the handheld controller when I upgraded the car as its not compatible with the V500.
I should put a light somewhere in the car, its driving me crazy.
When the car was a stock NA car with stock cooling system the 2 temp gauges NEVER EVER moved, now I stare at this thing all the time.

Sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble...not to gloat, but my efan setup is working wonderfully.
The law of unintended consequences demands however that there be no such thing as a free lunch and indeed, I've noticed a (slight) downside.
With the upgraded, larger radiator and the well controlled (at least IMO) efan, the car stays in the 180-195° range on even our hottest Denver days (not all that hot this year actually) and fan "up-time" is the shortest I've ever seen.
The downside though is the oil temp.
Since the oil cooler is dependent on the same efan as the radiator, in heavy stop and go traffic it's not getting the airflow it's used to and average oil temp has risen as a result.
In cooler/winter conditions I was used to seeing oil temps just slightly higher than water temp but now it runs in the 200° range until vehicle speed picks up and the oil cools down (albeit more slowly than the water, but still...).
I don't think it's a big deal but like Rob, now that I have all these gauges I tend to stare at them a lot.

Gloat if you want, it wont chap my ***. I guess it's just too hot in las vegas for this fan. I'm not sure.
I remember on my other vert, I had a stock radiator and a permacool e-fan with that probe style thermoswitch (not even shrouded) and that one never got hot. It's weird, but I guess I'll just stick with Mazda's engineering.
