Knock Off BOV???

So I just bought and paid for a HKS SQV III BOV and didn't realize until after I bought it, it may be a knock off. Here is the page;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/130642733324...ht_3110wt_1165

If so, should I return it and pay for the shipping back? Or can I cancel the order now, even though I got the confirmation email from the seller? Or should I just keep it?

For that price... Its definately a knock-off!

You should always check before buying
You could contact the seller if he wants to refund

I like all the labels on the auction pictures that say

"Oil Filler Cap"

And shipped from China, I doubt you want to return it. Why not try to use it? Rather a knock off BOV than a knock off Waste Gate.

I questioned whether or not my HKS SSQV III was real or not... So, I watched these videos and read A LOT of different internet postings. The people who are reproducing these are, unfortunately, getting a lot better at it. The BOV that you have will work... But whether it will dump properly or leak all depends on whether or not it is real, fake, or made with quality or shitty parts. I was able to verify that my BOV was real. It is best to go through an authorized HKS dealer.

Wow, I can't believe I did that without even thinkin it over. Luckily they responded back to me right away. Money refunded no problem, and bought this instead.

You bought that instead? ^

I can source many of those for MUCH cheaper from this site below. You went from "fake" to "faker"... Just because it is being shipped from the U.S. and you spent more doesn't mean it is real. Did you watch the videos I posted? Did you Google search at all??

I would've thrown it on my car and see how it does. You dropped a lot of cash on the older model though. I see them go for a lot cheaper than that on craigslist but granted those are used. Still a baller bov. I'm rocking an old school hks 'super blow off valve". Wondering if I should upgrade to a SSQV

If your name was Hypertek, I would advice you to burn it. Anyone else I would eadvice to just test if it works in your application. However the best advice: Don't buy fashionable ricer stuff that has so many knock-off companies they have to change the design every few years, to stay one step ahead. The 4 types of SSQV are all the same, it's just the design they change because of the knock-offs...

I don't see why you didn't just buy directly from HKS? You probably pay a little bit more, but you avoid scams and rip-offs that way. I hope it's legit, but if not then at least see if it works. And if not, maybe there is a way to modify it to work better?

Its an authentic one and comes with a 1 year warranty from hks, and is much cheaper than buying one directly from hks

Lol, I'm pretty sure HKS USA doesn't warranty knock offs. So I'm about 99.99% sure the one I got is authentic. Plus I looked up the sellers store, and he has lots of pretty rare, authentic parts, and the only negative comments he's ever received was on parts being back ordered and slow shipping, so I'm not too worried about it.

There is a vendor I talked to once that said the HKS valves are all made in China and some of the "knock offs" are actually out of the same factory. They just exit from a different door and never get the holo badge at the top. The second one is a version 2, I don't think there is any real difference in v2 and 3, except for some cosmetics.

If you insist. Whether it is fake or real, it will still work.

I was just saying that I can order a minimum of 10 of those from Zhejiang, China anywhere from $100 - $500. It would be just as easy to source the packagining, C clips, vacuum T fittings and zip ties. I could sell them for $100-$150 a piece, and still be able to afford to give you a "1 Year Warranty from HKS"... (I'd just send you a new unit if you were able to prove it was faulty or defective.) - Even the fake units are thoroughly tested. Read below.

I choose not to do this, though. ^

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/31...Off_Valve.html

Your best bet would be to call HKS to verify that you have a valid warranty.
