Kind of bummed .. found out my car is a POS

Well, one of em anyway

Ive spent a lot of time trying to restore my 87 RX7 that was sitting for years. i got most of the interior repainted in black and put back in.

Today i started on the engine only to discover the guy who had it last failed to drain the coolant. Needless to say, alot of chunks, rust, and various other bad things came out of the coolant when drained. Based on this, I just assumed that the engine is corroded away and is junk.

Oh yea, and all the brake rotors are rusted into place.

Oh well, i got the car for free

I guess now I'll have to concentrate on my 88 SE.

I dunno what im gonna do with that 87 .... might just scrap it

oh well.. I just needed to vent, its just frustrating to spend all this time on a car and find out that its gonna cost more than its worth to fix.

Just put some water and oil in it, and see if it'll start. Give it a ATF bath first....might still be good. CJ

Thumbs up man flush it a few times

what kinda attitude is that! put some prestone and distilled water in her then run her, then flush it again see what comes out then. she may still be ok.

If you decide to part it out, I might be interested in a few of the interior pieces... just let me know if you do. Thanks

Im sure it could still work, i just dont have the time to do both these cars. I got an 88 SE that needs a new engine and im workin on that now

So its not that I hate the thing or dont want it, i just dont have room or time for it now.

body is in near perfect shape, no dents, although the paint is oxodized. No sunroof though.
