keep s4 motor or move up to s5?

hey oi got a 89 tII and when i bought it there was a 87 jspec freshly installed and i was wondering if it would be better to keep a low compression motor or move up to a highre compersion s5 since in the future i plan on puttina nice size turbo on it? the current motor i got has been overheated so it wither needs a rebuild or i need to get a s5 jspec.

Mm... I suppose that if someone put a s4 engine in, they also replaced the ECU with the s4 ecu... so to "upgrade" back to s5, you'll have to replace at least both of those, plus the wiring harness...

What instrument guage do you have? the s4 or s5?

might be easier to stay S4, and I think the power differneces will be negligeable if you're upgrading the turbo anyways.
