K&N air filter

i have a K&N air filter on a 87' turbo II. i want to remove it so i can make a cold air box. how do you remove the air filter?

I'm having a hard time believing it's not evident. If it's a drop-in filter, you just have to take the top off the air-box. You can see the filter then and take it out. The box is held there by a bolt or two.
If it's a cone filter, there's a pipe coming out of it. find where it's attached and uh...un-attach it...
