just got my innovative lc-1 !!!!! already need help : (

well i have been searchin around and i cant seem to find any good thread about installation and setup. Can anyone find a good write up about this? its for an 88 turbovert.

there is a little manual that came with it, but i dont really know what the best way is to route the thing threw the chassis, or where to hook up the wires.

can some one help?

It is real easy. There are 6 wires?

Blue, Green, and Black - Twist together and ground to one of the nutts holding down the ecu.

Red goes to ignition - where it goes is up to you. I ran mine to the stereo ignition wire.

Yellow goes to your ECU's O2 sensor if you are eliminating the stock 02 sensor. This is the 1v signal. The manual is clear on this.

The brown wire is used for the 0-5 volt signal if not mistaken. I use this one so my rtek can log AFR's. No need for it if you dont have a aftermarket ecu.

Did you get a gauge?

this should at least get you started. I had mine wired up with a Power FC so it was a little different... I cut out the parts about the Power FC that will only confuse you. What exactly did you buy? Do you have the XD-16 AFR display or the cheaper one with the blue or red face? If you don't have an XD-16, you need to hook up the black calibration wire to a switch (possibly with an inline LED). See the manual about that.

Do you plan to keep your stock O2 sensor? If so, then you don't need the yellow wire. I'm pretty sure you need to hook the "serial out" to your laptop for recording... I don't know, I use the analog output to my Power FC so it's not quite the same. Also, make sure you have the terminator plug installed in the "serial IN" part or it won't work.

oh and FYI https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/my-power-fc-lc-1-xd-16-datalogit-wiring-diagram-707298/ is the thread about hooking it up to a Power FC. If anyone has any corrections to make to this, let me know.

Blue needs to be grounded separately from green if you want to avoid analog ground noise on your output wires. Blue is the heater ground. Also note that some (earlier I think) models are 6 wire, but most are 7 because of the additional white ground wire.

See https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=LC1 . The post at the top of that page is from an innovate employee.

couple things i just want to reinforce here.

white and green are grounded to ecu mount,

brown is not used.

black is not used

red is just a +12v

blue is a seperate ground.

yellow is just the stock 02 wire.

You need black hooked up to a switch if you don't have the XD-16 gauge, which you appear not to have. See the manual about this. You also need the terminator plug for it to work right. I think if you're wiring it up to a laptop directly, it still goes in the "IN" port while the "OUT" port goes to the laptop. Or it could be the other way around.

right, so

black goes to the little red switch that came in the kit then?

brown still is used for nothing.

so , as far as warm up goes and first time calibration, i am suppost to have the controller all hooked up and turn on the 12v to the unit WITHOUT it connected to the sensor, once it has warmed up...then connect it to the sensor, and do first time free air calibration??

and im still confused about the yellow and brown wires... im sorry!!

bah, keep answering my own questions. BUT as far as the yellow and brown wires go,

i am planning on keeping my stock 02 sensor. if i wanted to eliminate it, could i just splice into the wire at the ecu rendering the stocker usless but just leave the sensor in? how would that effect my safc or emissions?

if i dont use the yellow wire, should i just ground it instead?

same with the brown wire, should i just ground it? im not using any other displays.

thanks,
sorry if this is confusing!
