Just got my clutch in, Now vibrations...

I just did my first clutch job on my 7. Now I have a horrible vibration when I hit about 60 mph. I didnt replace my ujoints in my drive shaft so it is still in phase. Is there something else I should have marked or lined up? All help is greatly appreciated!

I guess it goes without saying that you did put all the bolts back when you mated the driveshaft to the differential. Also, were there any "weights" that were on the bolts that you might have failed to place on again?

The first thing I would check is the transmission mounts.

Did my clutch and while putting the tranny back in screwed up the tranny mounts which i dont think have ever been replaced, needless to say they were over due.

Also check the motor mounts, especially the right front.

Yeh I got that exact same problem right now. Everytime i shift up the vibrations get more and more obnoxious. I hear that the mounts aren't made for constant reinstallation so that may explain why that happens. It's just another one of the parts that needs to be replaced upon removal and reinstallation of the transmission. Good thing they aren't expensive.

Why don't you check them first to make sure they are the problem? I wish I had money to pour into my car...

Don't forget to check the bolts on the driveshaft to rear end. Make sure they are all tight!

Makes it sound like a helicopter, when loose!
