whats up yall? im new to this forum and new to rx-7s in general, although have been an admirer for several years. well anyway, i got to my 7, drove it for 4 days, then when going to my friends house it stalled at a stop and i wasnt able to turn it back on. it was not flooded, as i have a fuel cut switch. after several attempts to start it back up, a cop pulled up behind me and yelled and stuff, so i had to push it off the road. i towed it later that day. i hadnt made any rotary connections yet, so i had it taken to a tire kingdom by my house. they didnt know what they were looking at, but a guy from a shop next to them got it started back up by pouring oil into the intake manifold. it would only idle at 1.5g and above and even at 1.5 it wouldnt hold idle very well. to make a long story short i didnt feel comfortable driving it home so i left it in the parking lot. can you guys offer any help? im pissed cuz i just got it, and i love that car. need it running for school again in a few months. thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

if it needed oil to get it cranked back up it may have been that flooded. rotaries flood out bad sometimes. check the plugs cuz if it did flood severely the plugs will be fouled. its fairly common for RX-7s to not idle well after being started that way. plus rotaries dont idle well when they are cold anyway. if it will make you feel better, do a compresion check. use the forums search feature to look up the procedure. PM me if you have any more ? or need some advice. im always glad to help a fellow FC owner

you could have a hose that popped off. that happened to me, I had a vacuum leak (brake booster hose popped off behind intercooler) and I could start it. If your car is backfiring a lot, and they have to hold the throttle, that could be it.
