I thrilled to have found this message board.
I just purchased a low mileage '86 RX-7 Turbo II with the manual transmission. It's still on it's first set of tires and it has been sitting for a long time. A real long time. About ten years. I know the history of the car, I've seen many photos of the car, but I've yet to see it in person. I going to either tow the car back or have it transported to me within the next week or so.
I've long been a fan of the car, but I've never owned anything with a rotary engine before. Any advice and warnings about returning this car in a barn to life is greatly appreciated.
I expect to change the tires, battery, and plugs/wires. Do you think I'll need to replace the shocks/struts? I don't know if or how much gas was left in the car, so I expect I'll have to clean that gas tank out.
Thanks!

She's not a looker... yet.
The last couple years she's been exposed to the elements, so the paints taken a bit of a beating. No rust that I could see, but, unfortunately, I haven't seen pictures of the underside. I'm betting that if the shiny is still rust free, the bottom isn't either.
It's a gamble.
I'll post pictures once I get it in my driveway.
