okay, just checked afm. getting 4 v. but my pressure sensor is seeing 12v. when its suppose to show around 2.3-2.7. car isnt running, just in the on position. should i ground the pressure sensor? or should i just get a new one. i belive its a n132. but ill check to make sure

bump, the pressure sensor isnt n132 its something eles i can't remember, i tryed grounding it, but now it shows 10 volts. does this mean i need a new pressure sensor?

Whoa, where are you reading this 12/10v at? If at the ECU input for the boost sensor, then ya, something's wrong. Don't ground that sum bitch just yet, just the fact that you're dropping 2v with a simple ground means something funky is going on. If you're reading this 12v at the boost sensor itself, then it's normal depending on which wire you're on. Read the sucker at the ECU, with the car running, playing with the throttle- that's gonna tell you everything you need to know right there...Give me some numbers afterwards, i.e. idle voltage, 2K rpm voltage, WOT voltage, etc...

well i blew a fuse. after i did the ground for the pressure sensor. so idk what the hells going on there. its the black wire i grounded. when i get it running again, ill get the specs. this rx7 is trying to kill me i think. hahaha. possessed. its at the ecu that i checked the pressure sensor. ill disconnect the ground, and put a new fuse in later today. ******* pressure sensor

IIRC, the wire you want to ground, is brown with a black stripe...

Yeh, Rat, I think he grounded the black/white, lol...These guys and their grounds, I just don't know, I can't get through to them, lol...

Hopefully the fuse blew before you really screwed something up, MPGGUY....If you were getting 12v at the ECU, ON the boost sensor input pin, then something is screwy. If you've got a 5 volt input, how can you have a 12v output? And no, there's not a built-in step-up DC transformer in there

Just for *****, how does the car run with the boost sensor plug disconnected?

If he grounded the wrong wire, chances are he took the ECU with the fuse. You'll want to check the signal line for voltage. The pressure sensor should see 12v and 5v (ref), and then there'll be the ground (brown w/black) and then there's the output to the ECU which is what you want to watch. Just poke around with the MM and you should be able to identify each wire.

If you don't have them already , look up the FSM wiring schematics for the ECU/ sensors- it's near the front of the manual...Then everything Rat & I are saying might make more sense to you....Just don't burn the car down yet

With how scary the wiring in the car looked when I was there working on it, I wouldn't be surprise if it managed that on it's own! Another thing would be to check the line for the restrictor pill. Did you ever get a water thermosensor hooked up yet?

yeah thermosensor is hooked up. woops on the ground for the pressure sensor. i was trying to recall it in my head what one was the ground, guess i picked the wrong one. haha. ******* eh. i was getting 12v from the ecu before the ground. so i will replace the fuse. i fixed up the wiring a little bit while i was down here. its less scary sonicrat. yeah i kinda had everything thrown together. i hope i didnt mess up my ecu. that would not be cool. if i did i can get another one cheap. but that means im not driving for a week.

Check all the wires at the pressure sensor with a DMM. Just ground one anywhere on the frame/chassis/etc, then probe each wire. You should get 12V (black w/white IIRC), no voltage on the brown w/black stripe (ground), then the remaining two should yeild 5v on one wire (this is the vref) and the next should be your signal that's out to the ECU.

okay i didnt fry my ecu. thank god. replaced the fuse, hooked up the ground to the right pressure sensor ground. hooked up a new ground, got rid of the old one to the motor and chassis. and cleaned all connectors. im now getting less boost loss, not losing as much power. still kinda, but i still gotta check the voltage from the pressure sensor. i think my pressure sensor is going. it started to rain after i replaced the fuse. so i decided ill check voltages tomarrow.

and u know that rubber peice that goes to the turbo sonicrat, that we bought from ACE, well its kinda melting. its getting loose. so i have to tighten it once and a while. ill get a diff one later. thats what was causing a vac leak. duh. oh well.

That's weird, have you checked your timing? Mine hasn't melted and i've got the same exact setup.

really??? **** ill adjust it when i can, i prob moved it somewheres along the line. ill replace the rubber peice soon, and get a timing light on it. see if that helps any
