jspec or not newbie

I just bought my first rotary car very familar with turbos and the car studied alot of nights on the site. Here is what i have I bought a 87 RX7 and the original motor was pulled they gentlemen told me he had a 89 jspec motor put in the car how can i tell. I have been looking everywhere can i tell by the injector color or what.

Oil metering pump is electric unless he swapped the front cover.

Jspecs are also turbo so if the car was originaly NA and is now turbo its a Jspec swap.

check the fuel rails...if the pulsation dampner is on the rear of the secondary rail, the its J-Spec, if the regulator is on the rear of the secondary rail, then its north american.

Or just look for the turbo

In J-spec motors the fuel flows the opposite way......don't ask me why.
