JIC stainless steel exhaust

I was looking into buying a JIC stainless stell exaust unit, and was wondering if anyone knows what it sounds like and how it is performance wise. I know that the titanium JIC exhaust is very good but I havent heard much about the stainless steel.

Also,
what will it bolt into? (RB downpipe or midpipe)

For an 88 Tll.

Dude... get the RB catback unit if you already have the RB downpipe/presilencer combo... I have it and the new design kicks *** and sounds great, plus, it bolts right in and fits perfectly..

go with the 3inch corksport. Cheaper and has a unique sound. I have the corksport and I like it better than duals.

I was interested in the JIC stainless exhaust for my TII as well. If anyone has any feedback, sound clips, or videos it would be appreciated. I'm assuming is sounds similar to an Apexi N1? Anyone ever heard the JIC?

Do you have any sound clips? The ones that I have listened to sound like a pissed off 146hp weed wacker. lol

Maybe it was just a bad recording.

BTW does anyone have a link to the JIC exhaust? I don't think I have seen it.

This is the Spec 90.

It has an adapter so that it will fit to the stock catalytic convertor (which is just a neck from 3.5" to 2.5").

JIC also makes a downpipe wich connects gthe stock turbo to thir catback, removing the 2.5" neck. The downpipe is 3.5" from the turbo flange back. (Turbo outlet is 2.5").

Pricey stuff, but nice quality.

It sounds really nice. It is really deep, not tinny at all, and one of the loudest exhaust I've heard for an FC that actually had a decent tone.

I like it, but expect noise volumes slightly above the Apex'i GT Spec exhaust. Both the Apex'i GT spec and the JIC Spec 90 are significantly louder than the Apex'i N1.

Hope this helps.

Too quiet, heavier, more backpressure. More suited for the city daily driver.

The JIC is the highest quality exaust. I mean its JIC and its stainless steal, its what id get if i was rich.
But honestly you can spend a lot less and get the same damn performance for the most part. Like for example the Apexi N1. That unit is like 500 bucks for the full catback, it looks great, sounds great, and is a nice diameter (2.5" to 3" to 4.5" tip).
You really dont need more that this but its up to you if you want the best quality then its JIC.
Just be carefull with the ricers, they love that JIC ****

The JIC is A LOT better than the CS. Same goes for the RB unit.

Which exhaust? I've had both the Spec 90 and the Twin Spartan on my car. They both sounded good. Fitment and quality was also good. I'm running a 2.5 inch downpipe and midpipe with muffler welded in. I really liked the way the Twin Spartan sounded, but it's not cheap. I wish I had kept that exhaust.

No doubt that the JIC is better quality that the corksport but you can rebuild your motor for the same price as a JIC catback. Thats just stupid if you ask me.
Buy the corksport and use the extra money left over to buy "REAL" performance mod equipment. Exhaust is one of the first mods you want to do but spending a grand on a catback is for show cars. the difference in performance between a CS and JIC catback is nothing. Price difference about 650.

Some people rank performance differently. To some, performance is simply the powerband of the car at the tires. To others, it is the culmination of powerband, sound, and looks.

You leave out one important detail here: The corksport sounds like ***, simply horrible, and the JIC sound extremely nice. I would rather spend the extra couple bucks and have a car I don't like to listen to.

I have the corksport with a large street port and I think it sounds 10 times better than my friends with a $900 HKS catback. I guess I also favor corksport because they are one of the only companies that are developing NEW parts for Fc's at reasonable prices. Oh yeah corksport also has a complete 3inch dp/mp/cb for the same price as the JIC catback. That is reason enuff to go with corksport.

I did not compare HKS and Corksport, I compared JIC and Corksport.

Yes, the HKS sounds like ***. The corksport is just one notch above that.

You made a statement (generalized) that it was dumb to spend that much on an exhaust when a similar one is available much cheaper. By your theory, simply removing the exhaust is the best bet, since it is the cheapest, has the best overall flow, and sounds about as good as the CS system.

No thanks. You pay for quality, in design, manufacturing, and sound. To each their own.

IMO stainless steel is highly overrated as an exhaust system material. Aluminised mild steel (what most exhausts are made from) will last 10+ years, which is longer than most people will keep a car. SS is great for looks, but when it's hidden under the car and covered in road grime then the advantage is lost. To me the considerable additional cost of SS is money I'd rather put somewhere else in the car.

While I am a loyal Racing Beat fan, I'm a bit more practical than these guys and wouldn't spend anymore than I did on my exhaust, its friggin exhaust fo gods sake and when you get right down to it, I highly doubt my exhaust system is going to get me laid, might make my car a target for theft however....

However... stainless steel is HARDER than alum/steel and it simply SOUNDS better than Alum/steel, and the quality of ANY of the mentioned stainless systems is an order of magnitude beyond any alum/mild steel sytem your going to find.
