Are the JHB Cermet Housings Any Good?
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can vouch for the ceramic coated rotor housings from JHB performance in Canada.
http://www.jhbperformance.com/products/rotorhousing.php
They say they are supposed to last 10 times longer then the stock housings. I'm just trying to decide whether I should get these for my S4 13B rebuild project or go for the new housings from Rotary Specialties. The JHB ceramic coated housings go for about $290USD each, while the new housings run about $500USD each.
Check out the web site.. and if anyone has any good info or has used these housings let me know.
Thanks

Do you need everything to be Ceramic?
I did do a previous search on this, and it does seem that there are few guys that are really liking their ceramic housings... but then again that's just a few and most people seem pretty nervous about it.
Also... if you buy the ceramic housings... it doesn't mean that you have to also coat the end and intermediate housings as well as the rotors with cermics.... right?
If I got the ceramic housings I wold just get the end and intermediate housings lapped normally.

Don't know if you've seen these threads, but a few people give their opinions:

I don't have any first hand experience with cermet coatings, but I was thinking about trying it on my next rebuild. Seems promising as long as they can work out the "bugs".
