Hey bud,

that car looks awesome. Hopefully I can get there someday. On the CPU not beeping or doing anything, you might try replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the thing. Mine wasn't working and I opened up the cpu to find that the old electrolytic caps had leaked, and were eating through the pcb. Replacing them, cleaning off the nasty leaked electrolyte, and soldering in a jumper wire to bypass the damage fixed the problem. Should chirp and beep like new. Cost is a couple bucks in capacitors and solder. Shipping from digikey will be larger than the order price.

On A/C o-rings, if any have dried out, they all have dried out. There are even a couple inside the heat exchanger in the cab iirc.

I didn't know this was a known issue... I just got my full RB exhaust and right away just looking at the center hangers on the mufflers they don't even line up..one is an inch higher than the other. And guess which one is basically touching the bumper...

I reached out to them and think someone is doing something to address...maybe?
Mine is worse than the pictures above though the right one is touching the bumper.

For as long as I have been on the forum the droopy left exhaust has been an issue with Racing Beat. I remember someone made a write up on how to bend one of the hangers to fix the issue. It may just be skuttle-butt, but I always heard that RB never wanted to fess up to a mistake or something and won't do anything.

I have checked this thread off and on over the years. I am blown away at the level you have meticulously taken this car apart and put it back together. Have fun enjoying it.

FL 2nd gen GXL putting in JDM 89 Trubo II with ECU and Wire Harness

I just joined the forum and I bought a 2nd gen 89 GXL. I also bought a JDM 89 Turbo II engine with ECU and wire harness. I installed the engine and ECU. My question is, should I use the stock wire harness or the JDM wire harness. What should I look out for if I do use the original wire harness vs using the JDM harness? just need some help. Thanks

I would read this post:

Good detail on differences in the harnesses. Honestly, if you have the full JDM swap in good condition, it would seem to make the most sense to me to use the JDM harness.

Anybody who still has a battery cover and a complete oem intake should be congratulated.
