jerky acceleration revisited

well, to the advice of BamBam, I ran a heavier gauge ground wire from my TPS to a cleaned-up firewall ground. My TPS read 1.01 V before re-grounding, and 1.01 V after re-gounding. The jerkiness was improved some, however it is still lurking. When I was messing around with the TPS and throttle cable, I noticed a noise that sounded like plates or butterflies closing off when opening and closing the throttle. Anybody know what this noise might have been caused by? It came from deep within the intake. I pulled the rubber intake hose off the engine, and the butterflies right there where wide open. Those butterflies weren't affected by the position of the throttle, it looks like they are vacuum controlled. Is it possible that these butterflies are opening and closing abruptly, giving me jerky acceleration after getting on the throttle from a coast?
Thanks for any help
Jake
one other thing....after doing this last night, the engine seems to kinda bogg for a little bit when I'm idling in first and give it some gas.

Are you saying your throttle body isn't affected by your throttle ? or maybe you are talking about different butterflies than I am thinking about

i don't know what these butterfly's are called. they are right there when you take the two nuts off the rubber intake plenum and pull it off. they were wide open when i was looking at it and weren't effected by the throttle.
