I don't disagree that it was stupid of him. This just isn't the time nor place to call him on it. Trust me, you'll do stupid **** too in your life. And when it happens, you won't want people ragging you on it. You'll know it was stupid, and you probably won't do it again. Cut the guy some slack.

Steve

P.S. Let's keep this out of this thread, if you wanna PM to talk about it, that's totally cool. Again, my sympathy to Jeff and his family, and everyone else involved.

Man that is terrible news. I wish he and your family the best.

The Pacific NW seems to be relatively hard on rotorheads or maybe I pay attention more since I live here. Roads out here are fun but dangerous.

RIP Trey Jones (Portland area) and Trev Dagely (Washington state).

Thats not what he meant...

The point there is that his brother took the time to post what happened when you do things like that. I think that we are all in agreement that it wasnt the smartest thing to do, but EVERYONE here has done something that wasnt smart at least once in thier lives.

The point here is that a fellow rotary enthusiast is seriously hurt. His OWN BROTHER posted what happened and the consequences of the actions taken by his own kin. Pretty hard thing for him to do i'd imagine..

So if we all want to debate the pros and cons of Street Racing/Drifting, LETS DO IT ON ANOTHER THREAD!

hey 87 gtr wtf gives you the right to talk so much trash on my brother who is lying lifeless on a hospital bed with machines breathing for him. Another thing is his brain is starting to swell and they might have to cut off the sides of his skull to let his brain swell from the severe bruising and if they do that operation they will have to put him in a big refrigertor until the swelling goes down. So 87 gtr quit talkin trash.
P.s. I am not sure he was drifting, and we had something like a 38 day dry spell so it was the first real rain

my sympathy for your brother and your family, having some one hurt in the rotor community is like a brother being hurt. we all have the same love, maybe everything will be ok and he can share his love with the community once more.

This is horrible news.
Greg, All my prayers go to you and your family with hopes that Jeff pulls through this ordeal.

This is not the thread for people to discuss whether what Jeff was possibly doing is right or wrong. He is Greg's brother, but he is also our friend. He is one of us and what we need to do is hope and pray that he pulls through instead of trying to kick him while he's down.
Get well Jeff.

Oye... this sorta stuff makes me glad my rear-sway bar is out so the back-end isn't as tail happy. Makes drifting nearly impossible but improves autox times a lot Doesn't understear, doesn't oversteer, quite neutral.

That's horrible, I hope he makes it out alright...

so far the only real change in his condition is the doctors performed some tests to determine if he has any feeling in his arms and legs, it turns out he has feeling but this still does not mean he will have full use. Only time can tell about that. Also they set his broken neck so ut seems that that should heal. But on the darker side they still don't know if he will wake up or how much brain damage is done. The reason for this is they scanned his brain and when it came back it looked like damage but this early that can still be a concusion. One more piece of good news is his brain did not swell dangerously so they did not have to perform the skull slicing surgery.

The message is clear. These cars are way fun to drive, but practicing high performance maneuvers can only be done when there is no traffic or obstacles near.

The price can be way too high.
