J2LA I can tell that you've got a good rep around here thanks to your loyal band of customers. I'm not sure why but it seems like this guy has it in for you. When i'm ready for that engine i'll come to you first and see what we can work out.

i dont know if they even exist anymore (might be under a different name)
but NEVER EVER EVER buy an engine from sunrise JDM.
they are nothing but a bunch of bastards. payed $1350 shipped, and the engine was blown already, and they banded it to the pallet, which crushed the intercooler, twin scroll actuator, and bent the downpipe so bad it snapped one of the exhaust manifold studs, and bent the lines to the turbo.
anyway, check with Japan2LA, or atkinsrotary.com (they just got a new shipment, its on the front page [maybe pick up that 20b instead

"I'm done posting here"..... twice now... you have said this....
PROOF... Where is the PROOF? Have Jim or Kahren or whoever rebuilt the motor come here and tell us what was wrong with the motor..what if any parts where damaged or replaced... Post up pics.. Back up your claim...
Until then GTFO and STFU...
You are the one who is FOS... From maybe more than 2 years ago to now... you have NEVER had any Proof.. and you refused a full refund...
After you refused to send the motor back and get your money back.. I was done with you... Now 2 years later you still have this chip on your shoulder..yet you never provided any Proof...

Your name should be Crook2LA
You sold me a bad engine, i rebuilt it because you wanted to charge me a stocking fee and all sorts of bogus charges. You suck and i would not recommend you to anyone because of your bad business ethics...
You could buy from him if you want, but do the math. But why are you going to buy an engine that you are going to have the rebuild anyways when you could buy one already rebuilt with warranty? your choices are
http://www.atkinsrotary.com/index.php?pag=9
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ne_prices.html
http://www.banzai-racing.com/engine_rebuild_main.htm
http://www.azrotaryrockets.com/
and there are many more companies out there. You buy an engine from him you are taking a chance like i did and get a bad engine and you will have to then spend more money to get it where you want it, or just get a rebuilt one and know that the engine is good. Do the math engine+shipping+rebuild or one whole price for a good engine...
Whatever choice you make good luck.

I wouldn't touch a Kevin Landers engine. If I had to own a Kevin Landers built rotary or get out of the rotary community...I'd choose the later of the two. I've seen his work first hand and there is a reason he runs his business out of his basement.

That's an odd comment to make. Though I just registered, I've been doing some research for the last few months as a guest, as my 7 needs an engine. As far as I can tell, there are basically no legitimate complaints about his engines, and I think he has been selling them for many, many years now so if he were building some bullshit engines, I think the truth would have come out long before now. IT is not hard to find hundreds of recommendations for him, both from people who have actually bought engines, and other people who have met him or seen his work.
Sure, there are little complaints here and there about stupid ****, but I havent found anything that was justified or proven. Also from what I have heard, he provides pictures of the engine you send to him, when it is torn down, and again when it is cleaned, ported, and built, and a written warranty that actually gets honored if there is a failure instead of written off as "customer abuse" like most companies. I even found a post somewhere recently where somebody mentioned that his own built FC made like 475rwhp on pump gas, something that very few people can claim. So it sounds like the dude knows what he is doing.
And as far as working at his home, I see nothing wrong with that...it is called low overhead. I have no interest in paying for someone's shop rent and operation expenses if I can get the same quality of work from their home garage, but if you feel better paying extra to support someone's big shop, then be my guest.
I was going to PM him to get his response personally, but the forum won't let me PM or email, or search his old posts, so something wierd is going on with that.

Or it could be that you're actually Kevin creating yet another soon-to-be (unfortunately) banned username on this forum.

And I have also considered sending an engine to you, but I did read those 2 issues you had in the feedback section with those 2 guys. Nevertheless you seem like a great engine builder.
