JDM Engine Zone.......
Well my question is has anyone bought a engine swap from them before? I called them numerous of times and i was told that they run compression checks on all there motors and keep them well lubricated weekly. i have also talked to Brian from Japan2la but he's kinda pricey but have never heard any complaints from him or about his motors. Its just i'm not feeling the $350 for shipping on top of the $1873.00 for the swap. I know i'm being cheap *** but i want to know about the new guys.

I'm keeping it rotary with the S5 13BT. Well the price is what he told me. i'm just trying to look for deals cause i wanna get the car driveable before this year ends. i'm well aware its gonna cost more. (all the little parts i need and if it needs a rebuild. also the drivetrain is gonna be another pretty penny).Just looking for more repeutable engine importers.

Probably your best bet is to either go with Japan2LA or find a nice USDM engine that was recently rebuilt. Before i bought my TII I was going to turbo swap my vert(still am but building an engine from scratch) i planned on going with ACT clutch and flywheel and a few other things that would save me headache in the long run. I figured it out to be around $2500 and i already have the TII stuff in the car from the stock flywheel back. If you do it right then you wont have to take the time and money to fix stuff later. Also dont give your self a budget of $3000 and spend all if it on the parts. Your going to need misc. gaskets and things like that to install the engine so give your self and extra $200 or so.

Why not search the classified ads for a TII or a NA-TII conversion that some other sucker sunk his money into and now must take a huge loss? Or how about just buying somebody else's unfinished project for a steal?

I saw alex's post about his car for sale and believe me, if i could get it i would but that car is located all the way in california! (i live in miami,florida). I'm keeping my eye for a car like that so.

Well its not too hard to pick up a TII. As long as you are ok with minor things like paint and such you can score big. I picked up my 10thAE two weeks ago for $1800 and all it needs is new seat covers and paint. It only has 85k miles on it too.

well there really isn't any luck on here. one of my buddies is selling a S4 with everything still in it for a grand and it has a rebuild that is questionable? (really questionable). what it needs is a radiator and some TLC. But when i saw the car, the engine was still in pieces but they claimed it drove fine. You just couldn't punch it from a dead stop or it would bog. Oh and to add to that they also that when it was in boost it ran fine (if you understand what i'm saying) i don't mind taking the long route but i would really love to keep my S5 (sentimental value)

You and I both make a lot of money off of the financially-challenged, so I guess I can't complain.
Since he joined the thread, what are his prices? He is usually pretty much the same as the rest of the market unless he has something that he thinks is rare. I would imagine that he doesn't think a 13BT is rare. Also, he may be able to find a good deal on some other things that you may need, such as a LHD TII throttle cable, LHD TII wiring harness, boost sensor, S5 TII gauge cluster, etc.

Not in so many words, Evil was saying.. If you found a Decent TII F.S. you could buy a Ticket, Fly in and drive the car home...
Nothing like driving a car you are not 100% confident with 3000 miles.....

its all good dude. hell i know your promise only good quality stuff. i would love to drive a car across the country (as i do have family over there). I would have to arrange to stay with them a bit, then drive to were the car is at and get lost on my way home lol. oh and sorry i missed your call. but thanks for the input all.

look i live in miami too . i got my engine and tranny for $ 1000 from JDM of miami.com and the parts such as drive shaft, diff, ecu, and half shafts i got it from a place right off hallandal beach bluv in borward for just $1500 i am in the middle changing my 89 n/a to a s5 T2. they are some JDM importers in town but you will need to find a T2 wire harness

I'm still looking for one of those. I found one earlier this year S4 though and the guy couldn't hold it for to long.

Well its not the first time you heard of a budget build. Plus i got my currenty 7 for free (very clean if i might add) this is why i'm asking if you guys if you bought from this place or even heard of them

it doesn't matter where you buy the engine from...what matter is the policy to which if the engine is screwed, what is it the company's going to do...
If you plan on dropping the engine from the loading dock to your car go with Brian.
If you are going to rebuild it..."unless the engine is BLOWN or the internals are screwed" just buy it from any importer that doesn't have a history of screwing people and rebuild it.
Don't make it to complicated...you can spend months trying to find the right motor....but truth is some of these motors are setting in china or Japanese junk yards being rained on or snowed on and brought to the US and are pressure washed to look pretty...
