Probably a bad headlight switch. Check to see if the plug is all burnt up at the back of the headlight switch.

Actually that is a very good question and a good possibility, I never even thought about it! I did the regrounding mod to my car! What might I have done wrong?

I'd be checking if unplugging the switch solves the problem. If it does, you have a bad switch.

If it does not, then it sounds like you jumpered something that shouldn't be, or perhaps unplugged something and re-pluggedit back in the wrong spot.

Ok I checked the Headlight switch and when I unplugged it the lights stayed on! This is when I had the key out of the ignition! So this means what? Also thier is an aftermarket radio!

was the aftermarket radio put in around when the problem started?

If so probably how the ground wiere was done, was done wrong.

If not, you have something jumpered or plugged in wrong. You will need to trace down what you did to cause this as it won't be a Mazda problem (you rulled that out when you unplugged the light switch and the problem didn't go away and the harness was not burnt at the back of the switch.)

I would be looking at anything electronic aftermarket that has been added.

When did the problem start... when you re-did your grounds??? or did someone do it for you??

You see the problem is that I rescued the car from a 10 year, yes I said 10 year sit in a basement in ST. Louis. It was covered up with some tarps or plastic sheeting of some kind. The original owner bought the car *10th AE* and at the time worked for Sante Fe, well from his story he hurt his back pretty severly on the job and was never able to get back in it due to the tight fit! He was a big man! So there it sat, no gas the tanks were completely drained, no oil, no antifreez, no tires for 10 long years. Its only got 51,000 miles on it and he says they are all highway! The problem is that when I got the car I just started to do the regrounding mods instead of trying to get it running yet! It also came with the aftermarket radio, so I don't know if this is a previous problem or something I did. I am trying to get it one the road again and do some reliability mods first.

This is what I have done so far, Tell me if you think that something I did might have an effect on my lights!
1 rewired fuel pump
2 Thermal pellet
3 S5 Turbo with monster port wastegate
4 omp removed *premix*
5 griffin rad
6 FMIC
7 egt,oil,water,boost,a/r, Gauges
8 Grounded everything in the how to section.
and their is more I'm just tired of typeing!
Thanks
