INTAKE Turbo Supercharger???

found a guy who is selling this thing, but wanted you allz input on the subject...

ELECTRIC TURBO/SUPERCHARGED INTAKE KIT!

This 3-inch inline turbo blower will fit any intake tube, stock or aftermarket with little or no modification. Once activated at wide-open throttle, the unit will force 3 to 4 times more air into your engine, boosting power significantly!! Up to 250 CFM and 10-40 HP!!

Though it won't provide performance equal to a $3000 turbo kit, you will "feel the power" more so than most basic bolt-ons. And you don't have to worry about blowing your engine up or voiding your warranty. I have it installed on my own Integra, and was VERY surprised and pleased with the performance increase!

the guy claims it will easily bolt between our intake and our cone filter... what ya all think of it? hehehe

You guys do realize that if these things did produce power and improve mileage and what not, they'd come standard on every car.

One thing to note about crap like this and crap like the tornado, they will always say "Up to XX HP!!!". That should be your first clue. They won't say "you will gain atleast XX HP" because that would be false advertising. Think of it like a simple equation, where even 0 could be the answer.

some of these things do show improvement in a bubble. but for most uses they dont help much. the theory seems sound on the surface but it doesnt pan out when put to use.

i dont mind hearing about these kind of things. ill judge for myself rather than believing some big corporation did things perfect the first time and dont even bother trying to improve it..... if that was true we wouldnt have better cars than we did 20 years ago.

It's just a marine blower for ventilating boat engine compartments.

Waste of time and money, don't even try. Will cause a power LOSS in the car, no gains at all.

You would be better off redirecting your A/C into the air intake. That way you would get fast air flow and COLD air... but of course just using the A/C robs power.

A stock NA 13B flows about 250cfm at 6500rpm. Even if that thing did create any boost, the boost would decline back down to ambient pressure around 6500rpm, after which the "turbosupercharger" would become a restriction. Although unlikely, it could actually produce a little boost, but I'm not sure how efficient it would be (compression = heat = less power), and any gains would probably not be worth the increased electrical load on the FC alternator which is marginal to start with.

That intake tornado thing really DOES work. First you make your car run really rich, which makes you lose HP. Then you put something in your intake to restrict flow, which would then lein out your already rich running engine, and BAM! your HP goes back up to where its suppose to be.
