Intake and emissions questions?

I'm sorry if this info is already on the forum, but can't find it easily. I am putting a 89+ intake on my 86. I know I need new gaskets and such, but I need to know which emissions components I need to keep for the car to run with the stock ecu. I will not be running a cat and will be running the 6 ports and vdi off of a new vacuum source and some rpm switches. Also I have heard that the 89+ intake does not have a vacuum source for the oil injectors, where would be the best place to tap those into. I will be running all new vacuum hoses and fuel lines. I have also done the TB mod, removed the AC and air pump. Plan on blocking off ACV and EGR. Oh, and is there a way to modify the intake or my old fuel rails to fit or do I absolutly need the 89+ rails. If so does anybody have some for cheap?
Thanks guys, haven't posted in a loooooooong time.

Again, the oil injectors and the spider do not go to a VACUUM source. The spider goes to a nipple on the throttle body that leads to a inlet in front of the butterflys i.e. not vacuum. The oil injectors pull fresh filtered air from a non vacuum source. Its the OIL INJECTORS that are pulling the vacuum.

So make your spider go to a place without vacuum, but a place that supplies filtered air to the oil injectors.

Sorry, I didn't meen to say vacuum, bad habit. I do know that they need an air source. I thought I remembered the spider connecting just after the black spacer for the TB, but it has been a while since I took it all apart. Can anyone answer my other questions though, or point me to a post that does?
Thanks in advance.

If you download the Fuel section of the 89 manual at http://www.fc3s.org and look at page F2-7, it shows the vacuum lines. I don't know what year you have but suspect series five.

The above book shows three nipples at he back of the 89 turbo intake manifold. One above the other. Large one goes to the spider. The one below should go to a nipple that sits b/t the oil injectors on the lower intake manifold. The bottom one goes to god only knows where. That diagram sucks just like the ones in the other books. Damn sorry effort at a diagram. TAke a look at it and maybe it'll make sense to you. Not me.

Okay, after looking at the FSM it seems to me that if the ACV, EGR, air pump and cats are removed then there is no need for the 4 solenoids ontop of the engine. Is this correct? What about the BAC though, I don't have power steering or AC, do I still need this?

to the top yet again, I see that one of the solenoids is for the fuel pressure regulator, so I assume I need to keep that. Someone please help!!

Yep. Keep the one for the fpr. OR, chunk it and run the vac line from the fpr to a known source of vacuum, such as teeing it intot the pressure/boost sensor vac line.

I'm adamently opposed to removing the bac. I can't think of one good reason at all for its removal. None.

Thanks again HAILERS, it's good to see someone is will to help with my questions. I still need to know about the fuel rails though. Do I have to use the 89+ rails to assemble this or can I make the 86 rails fit?
