Installing dash Q's

i got a new project car yesterday, and i started putting it together. Its a 87 gxl w/ a burgundy interior but i have a full black leather interior from a S5 (im guessing i used the archived post to get started on it and everything is pretty much done. theres just a couple things that are pissin me off

1# - the two 12mm bolt are not lining up the are both visible but the holes in the dash containing the threads are still partially covered. i tried to force the dash back, but i dont want to damage anything. I was wondering if i missed something or if theres a easy way to do this?

2# - There is a blue plug that is behind the glovebox. I saw a blue harness on the pass side near the front window, but it seems like the plug is smaller then the harness. Is that the right harness or is it somewhere else? Im starting to think its the wrong harness in the right location, but i think i read somewhere that everything except the s5 cluster bolts in.

thx guys, i'll try to keep the questions to a min but i got the car in pieces lol so expect more
