Injector stuck open/constantly firing?
Well I just finished installing my Reman in my car and cranked it tonight. It cranked fine but didnt catch. Anyways here is my problem, after cranking it several times, I noticed a small puddle of fuel under my car. Yesterday I had already used the fuel pump test connector to check for leaks and there was none. When I pulled off the UIM after cranking tonight I couldnt find any traces of fuel leaking and jumpered the connector again to make sure. No fuel was leaking out of the injector grommets or fuel lines.
Well after having the connector jumpered for a few seconds I noticed the 2nd intake runner on the LIM (2nd from the left looking from the passenger side) had begin pooling fuel in that runner only.
Immediately I thought that the injector was stuck open firing constantly. I did run a new wire a few months ago for that injector harness because of another problem but the injector was working 3 weeks ago.
To test my theory I took off the injector harness for that injector only (rear primary) and jumpered the connector again and no fuel pooled up in the runner.
Two questions:
1) Is the injector constantly firing because the one of the wires is grounded somehow or some other cause?
2)Where is the fuel leak coming from? I'm guessing the intake runner was filled to the capacity with fuel after cranking several times for probably 30-45 seconds in total, but where would it be coming out from?
I havent checked anything else yet since it was getting late so I havent checked out the wiring yest but wanted to see who agrees with my theories.
