Question injector removal

Okay, I've searched some, but didn't really find an answer to my silly question...

How the heck do I get the plug (wiring harness) off of the injector on a S5? I saw some items on an S4 that said it had some kind of locking spring or something, but I don't think the S5 has it. I have a 91 NA if it helps. I'm a little timid as I don't want to break the plug, wires, or injector, but they seem to be stuck on there pretty good.

please help!

there is a little spring in there it doesnt exactly look like a spring though its just a piece of wire that is on the wireing harness side of the plug youll need to remove it with a screwdriver or seomthing like that

it just needs to be pried (sp?) out

no, no, no, the S5 injector plug has a little clip that you just press with yer finger then it comes right off. it looks harder than it is.

there is NO metal clip/spring on the S5.

Yea, It's a push tab. It seems Mazda addressed this problem with the s4's. The Injectors clips were commonly broken or held loosely after many repeated removals.

Well I thought it was just a push tab, but I'll be danged if I can get the sucker to come off. I'll try it some more, maybe just need a little more effort, I was just afraid to pull too hard in fear of breaking something...

Funny, after I posted again, I went out and pushed the little tab and it popped right off... Usually my luck -- I just needed to walk away from it and come back.

Anyways, if you're looking at the end of the plug, the bottom side of that plug should be a little tab. Pinch it towards the wire itself and pull it right off. I've always found these types of plugs to come off easier if I actually push in the plug a little to release the pressure on the "wedge" and then pull it out.
