Injector Question?

I'm having some problems with my car now. It kind of sputters between 2500 and 3500 rpm. When i accelerate in between those rpm's it kind of wants to stop and then accelerate. I think that maybe my secondary injectors might be busted.

I have put that injector cleaner in and i drove it for 80 miles even went to highway and drove it 130mph but still same thing. I just want to know is it really secondary injectors and does someone know where can i get two for cheap.

Thanks

Pull 'em and put a meter on em.
Check all four.

Clean the contacts then have them flowed at NAPA.
(cleaned)

Re-install.

If it still happens, then its not injectors, but youll get better gas milage!

Well i am unfamiliar with all of the things that happen at this stage.

I have heard that the o2 sensor might play a role, but not at WOT.

At this point I would check all the vac lines and make sure nothing is loose.

Particularly at the sensors and actuators.

Oh boy...

Here we go with the grounds again.....

If it IS a gorounding problem, clean all yout factory ground points.

thatll fix it.

Dont start duct-taping your car with extra grounds and paperclips...

Fix whats broken.. a ground might be the problem.

Check it by doing that extra ground, and if it goes away, clean the factory points off and re-tighten.

First of all if it happens between 2-3k rpms I would suspect its your primaires... I have the same hesitation at the same rpms when excelerating but not WOT...Im going to change my injectors next week. Its either that or the grounds. No biggie.

Secondaries come on line at 3800 and they only come on line if the boost/pressure sensor senses a load. They don't come on line at 2500 whatever. If you stumble at that range it isn't the secondaries. By the way, the factory(MAZDA) put out a bulletin concerning the grounds. They are the people who added an extra ground to the boost/pressure sensor. If you take the time to look at the factory schematics you will see that on a 86-87, the brown wire witha black stripe, that IS the ground wire for the boost/pressure sensor, is spliced to other vital sensors such as the tps, water thermo sensor, afm, atmospheric sensor, and on and on(they are all joined togehter with solder joints). If that brown wire with a black stripe does not have a good ground, its the same thing as the sensors not getting voltage. That wire goes to pin 2C on the ECU. While every ailment isn't solved by adding a ground to the boost/pressure sensor, THE BIG MOTHER, MAZDA, thought it was worth looking into with their BULLETIN. Six Rotors has written on this issue in the past and mentioned that to solve his problem he not only did the boost/pressure sensor(which did not solve his problem) but also adde one to the tps(which I understand did solve his problem). Its the JOINTS as in SOLDER JOINTS, that seem to be the problem with the grounding on some cars(mine, but no more). Some cars have no problem with grounds*my other two*. If you think its the secondaries*can't be at 2500*, then swap b/t primaries and secondaries prior to making some injector cleaning service richer. Its always worth checking to make sure there is a orifice in the boost/pressure sensor line*again, could be the problem, might not be the problem*.

I admit that an extra ground is useful.
But this symptom is always a call for the owner to check all the systems on his engine.

If the ground is wavering, then its a good time to recheck more then just the ground.

The throttle position sensor may need adjusted. Try grounding all the black wires to the ecu. It's under the drivers side carpet. There's a protective plate ya have to take off. The wire clusters are huge and wrapped with covers. Only black wires are the grounds. It fixed my 88.

I know where my ecu is, i hooked up s-afc to it. I'm still gonna check my injectors secondary. Because it looks like one of them isn't working and one of them does. No matter how much gas i give it after 3 k it wont accelerate fast. I don't think that Ground could be a problem all of a sudden. It worked fine the other day and 2 years before.

Von.......Black is the color. Also something I failed to mention. If the vac hose is off the boost/pressure sensor the secondaries will open each and everytime the 3800 rpm is reached. Not a normal condition, the hose being off.

If all else fails, try cleaning your throttle body.&nbsp If the double-throttle sticks, it causes weird problems like you've described...
