My 87 T2 are the injectors low or high impendence?
I thought 86-87 were low and 88 and newer were high impendence...
I was going to buy some low off a guy for my car and he swore up and down that what his Low would not work. So it got me thinking...

86 - 87.5 is low injectors. The wiring harness will have the resistor pack on it. 87.5+ - 91 will be the high imp injectors and will not have the resistor back. You can use low imp injectors on the high imp harness but you will have to solder in resistor so you won't fry the injectors or ecu. I have a high imp s4 harness and I will be using 91 high imp primaries and 720 low imp secondaries with resistors.

I definately have the resistor pack so like I previously thought I need Low Impendence injectors...
The guy had a solid argument, He swore that only 86-87 N/A used Low. Turbo and 88 and newer were high, so it got me second guessing.
I should not have doubted myself. lol
Thanks
Keith

The change from low to high impedence injectors happened in mid 1987. The chassis numbers 550168 and earlier used low. The chassis numbers 550169 and later used high. See attached jpg out of the parts fische.
