Yo,
Paulie, good job as always. You're cracking me up! Are you playing some Initial D J-pop?! Ha!
You should post your playlist from you vids so we can download the MP3's.
Let me know when you are going out for HPDE's, I've got Mondays and Tuesdays off. I'm also looking into getting a KT100 kart...so if you want to come up and go karting...lemme know.

Yo,
Wow, just watched all the videos! Paulie, you are the master of the late-brake!! *snicker*
Did I tell you I hate Turn 10? I saw the spin and said, "That has to be Turn 10." Sure enough...
I've seen a couple cars wreck there...but mostly 8 and 8A.
I wanna go out and race now! You know Dana and Team GTUs are down!

JM,
No, actually my cage was fabbed by Alan Blaine and Joe Gervais, two open road racers in Joe's garage Alan's a certified welder, and we spent close to 4 months over weeknights and weekends on it. TIG welded, 8 points, NASCAR style door bars, designed to be as far away from my head as possible.
Never met Abraham.. Looks like Frey might be closing down soon from the rumors I'm hearing too..

Those vids are great! It's strange watching an FC pass an FD then the FC gets passed by an FB in a later shot. And that miata looked like it should have been racing in a higher class.
Where you riding with a passenger in the last video? Seems like someone was poking in from the right a few times.
And where did you get that nice little F1 style shift indicator on the dash? Or did you fab one up yourself? And maybe I'm just new to the game but that is the first tach I've seen that started at 4k. I also noticed an idiot light blinking off and on in the first two vids; looked like the washer fluid? I aslo saw you breeze past 8k in the last vid.
Anyhow; that was some good entertainment! Thanks for sharing. Prooved to me how much I really want to do that; but also prooved to me how far I have yet to go.

Kevin,
SuperEurobeat presents JGTC championship and one from Initial D Battle Stage
Matt Land - Fly to me
Toby Ash - Jumping up the Nations
(and I ended up buying the CDs, couldn't find them to download)
Hey, I like I-D.. Yeah, it's kinda goofy sometimes, but what the hell
Next event is NorCal Racing club at Laguna Seca on the 10th.. Which is a tuesday. However, they are kinda strict about passengers, they only want the instructors to give rides to paid students However, if you come, I'll do my best to get you a ride.. (or you could just sign up
I'll let you know about 2003, still waiting on NASA to finalize a schedule.
As for 10, it's really not so bad, but it's very important to get OFF the brakes and on the gas or you're coming around.. "It's all about the weight shift"
Hey, I got good brakes, I use 'em! LOL That protege has some goompas! I had to take him deep to make a clean pass.

Blowtus, et. al..
Ok Ok OK.. Jeez, I get the point. I'll put some vids up from Laguna next month without any music..
However, There's a few from last month at Sears you may not have seen that don't have music either:

Samps,
LOL, good for you Well, keep in mind, rain is a big equalizer, and Jeff's FD is ~300 RWHP or so, and every time he got on the gas the back end wanted to go out. Cold Kumhos and wet tracks aren't a good mix for him I was a good 4 seconds off my fastest pace that weekend, I think the fastest laps were in the 2.09s.
re: passenger, yes, I had a passenger for all but the 1st session that day.. HPDE (High Performance Driving Event) is a school, preparatory for getting your license. In the less advanced groups (1-2) you see a lot of street cars, but group 4 moves up to almost exclusively race cars.. Probably because they allow us to run open passing in that group.. You saw how close I ran up to some of those cars, some people just don't like to risk their street cars that way. I wouldn't take the Trans Am out in Group 4. I offer that seat to whoever shows up and is willing to go (and wears the appropriate clothing)..
The shiftlight is from T-sport (http://www.t-sport.com), an austrailian company. It's their ultrabrite model (the regular is just too dim for me in daylight) You set it to your desired RPM via a dial, and it comes on 1000RPM below that, and every 200RPM thereafter a new light comes on.. Best 90 bucks I've spent on shiftlights
The idiot light is the brake lamp indicator, I stumbled onto it, but it works really nice to tell me when I'm braking in the video, so I can judge how deep I'm taking the car later when I watch the vid.
Cheers,
Re: Trans Am, sure.. That's how I got into this, some friends talked me into a track day at Thunderhill back in '98.. Snowballed into this.. I stuffed the TA into the wall at turn 8A back in 2001, it's just about ready to get back on the road now.
As for vids, here's 2 taken at Laguna Seca back in 2001..
