I'm scared to install my super AFC

I finally got my super AFC in the mail yesterday after 2 months of waiting, and now that it's here I'm half scared to install it. After reading the manual searching a ton of posts in this forum I realize I don't have a clue of how to set this thing up. I don't think there is anywhere around my area (central pennsylvania) that I could have this thing tuned and I don't think I want to pay to have it tuned anyway. I have 720cc injectors to go with it and I would love to put this sucker in to add some more juice, but I only have 1,200 miles on a rebuilt engine that took me 2 months to drop in, so I really don't want to mess it up. I hoping someone will take the time to explain to me what exactly is involved in tuning this thing, what kind guages I will need, and maybe someone could explain the whole Dyno testing thing to me, sorry but I have a lot to learn.

thanks

Are you connfident\good with splicing wires? If so there's nothing to be afraid I haven't tune mine, but you can search and find what most people shoot for Or maybe somebody else will replay with a better answer on how to tune in on a dyno.

The SAFC looks complictaed, but is not.........TRUST ME!!

BTW - Don't be sorry to ask, that's why we all spend our time here

Some one correct me if I am wrong but you can install it and leave it alone till you have more information on how to tune it. It should keep all # stock till you start tweaking . So at least you can have it in your car that might get some of the anticipation/edge off ya

Is there a dyno near you? If so you should be good to go. If not you could use an EGT gauge and just tune it rich.

It will operate under default settings until you manipulate data In It.

So if I just install the S-AFC and set the # of cylinders and sensor numbers then it will just channel info without changing anything? I guess as long as I don't plug in any correction factors I will be fine? So far from what I understand I will need an air/fuel guage or an exhaust temp guage to tune this, but once I have them how do I read them and understand them? I have no idea what these guages look like, which ones I should get, where to get them, how to interpret them, exc.

Do the default settings change how it would normally run?

An a/f gauge that uses the stock O2 sensor is virtually useless. Most people refer to them as "light shows."
