I'm new
Hello,
I am new in this forum infact I've never joined a forum before. I thought i would share a little about my car.
About 6years ago I had a Honda and the timing belt went and I did'nt know enough then about working on cars so I junked it. But that left me without a car and very little money. I went to a local family owned car lot that mostly sold junk but I was in need and beggers can't be choosers. The guy offered me a Colt for 300 but I still had my pride and didn't want my dignity to suffer so I said NO. Then I saw a car that had a nice sporty look to it and asked about it and he said it was an 87 Mazda Rx-7.
I didn't know what that was I had never even heard of a rotary engine. But, never the less I bought it for 1600. Now though I love rx7's and would never want to blatently disrespect one.......this one was junky. It had obviously been broken into at some point an the interior was destroyed. I mean DESTROYED! Not a single peace was there in its entirety. Before I even drove it off the lot I had to replace the fan because it was missing blades and made the whole car jump around. Then about a week after I got it the radiator went bad and the Mazda dealer told me it would 500 to fix the problem. So a bought a used radiator for 40 bucks and fixed it myself once again lower what was left of my faith in auto dealers.
Eventually I figured out what I had, a diamond in the rough, and devoted miself to rebuilding it to it's former glory and beyond. It seemed incredibly hard to come by parts for my baby at a resonable price though until one day at a junk yard I had journyed to in high hopes of finding some worth my time and gas spent. I was handsomely rewarded with a mint 1990 rx7 missing only the title and bought it for ONLY $700 !!!!!! So I have commensed ripping apart my 87 and replacing the parts with 90 parts. But not before I shaved the trim and and repainted it with a blak color with green metallic flakes and a double clear finish. the body is only primerd and half put back together(waiting on find A stereo system I like) at the moment though the hood, fenders, mirrors, and light covers are painted and completed.
So, I still have a lot of work ahead of me and I am loking forward to it.
