Im having some engine problems

86 n/a.

About 3 months ago my mom was out driving my car and parked it. The next morning she went to go start it and wouldnt start. She came to me with the news and told me it wouldnt start so i didnt sweat it at all and told her its probly flooded. I also told her the de-flood procedure because I couldn't go outside and do that stuff being that I had a broken foot. (By the way still recovering.) One day I finally built up the courage to cruch my *** outside and see what was wrong with the car. When I turned the key it was hesitating and SO CLOSE TO STARTING. I got my mom to do the de-flood process again but this time me watching and stepping her through it. Still no avail, I then called my friend that has more knowledge with cars and he said it wants to start but wont. That was the obvious part, but he came with the conclusion of testing the starter. Starter tested fine, battery is new and alternator is refurbished. Eventually it got to the point where the motor wouldnt even attempt to start. I sent the car to the local mechanic shop and there only response was no compression......I was like NO ****!??!. Never take a rotary to a normal shop. Anyways, im about to move and need to do something with the car. Ive been doing some thinking and thought it made sence that it has to be something electrical? because it was like a dropping graph curve of no power if that makes sence.

Note that about a week or two before the engine going, I took it for a 20 minute drive and it would hesitate when going up in revs. Mostly was highway speeds and at 100 km/hr it would still hesitate now and then. I got to the next town and stopped at a friends house, and turned off the car. I got my friend outside and asked if he knew what the heck this hesitiation was all about. Funny part is, no hesitation and never seen any troubles until this breakdown.

I need some help here bad guys, like I said im moving within a month. There's no rotary freaks or rotary shops in my area, I live in a hick town. Any ideas as to what it could be?

i say take out all the plugs clean them really good and while you have the plugs out crank the car a few times then stick them back in and then see if it starts.

Even though the plugs are relatively new?

Forgot to mention that my car literally drinks oil....I put in a quart every week, depending on how much I drive. Could this be a sign of oil seals? Or maybe just a super slow leak?

is there oil on the ground everywhere you park? even though your plugs may be new they can probably get fouled if your car uses that much oil. take out a spark plug and check it out to see if it has a lot of oil build up on it then you might of found your problem.

Nope no oil on the ground. The car is still at that gay *** auto shop but when it returns ill double check my spark plugs. I did check them right after the incident of the engine going and they were black on the tips and me not being that well educated in mechanics assumed that was just normal.

The car is flooded. Yes still flooded. take the plugs out and pull the EGI INJ fuse and hold the gas pedal to the floor, proceed to cranking. Repeat cranking several times till no more smoke comes out of the plug holes. if you like drop a OZ of MMO or oil into the plug holes and crank again. Clean the plugs and reinsert. If the car is badly flooded you need to remove the plugs the normal cranking process tends to no longer be suitable. As well lower compression on the motor will yield to more prone flooding characteristics.

As for your hesitation the problem is your TPS and or pore grounding system in in the engine bay. Do some searching on that.

The hesitation is most likely the ground under the intake on the block. Thats the ECU ground. Its a common problem. Take it off, clean it it, and put it back on.

And your 7 is probably so flooded that just pulling the EGI wont do it.
-Remove your plugs, all 4 of them, remove EGI fuse, floor the gas, crank engine for atleast 45 seconds. Then, put one once of engine oil in each trailing plug, put the plugs back in, crank the engine 1 second (just to make it do a full 360 degrees), put the EGI fuse back in, start the car.

Thanks guys, when the car gets back ill check all the grounds and the more thorough de-flood process.

So basically the engine dwindeling to not even making a noise anymore is most likely just the battery?

Yup. One problem though...if the battery was left with no charge for a while, its most likely dead. You'll need a new one because it wont hold its charge.

alright....Im crossing my fingers that nothing else has messed up in this 3 month period. Im curious to ask if not preparing the car for storage procedures are gonna get me?

I'll try and get a video up of whats going on. Basically whats happening is the motor sounds like its trying to turn over. I took out the spark plugs and pulled the egi fuse. Smoke came out of the holes, so i reinstalled the plugs and it wouldnt start. I then again took the plugs out and 2 plugs had a black fluid on the tips assuming thats oil with a higher percentage of gas because its very runny and smells. When I try to start the car im listening to the exhaust and all the pulses seem to be ok. Im almost sure its just flooded.

I dont have enough compression.... ......I would of tested it to make sure but i lost the adapter to my tester and couldnt test. I put oil in the spark plug holes and it was super close to starting but you could tell when it would skip saying bye one apex seal. Next on the list is to sell it for someone that wants a project and buy a tii.
