ignition and starting

So my problem is thus. I turn the key and nothing happens. no lights, no radio, no nothing. Ive checked and rechecked the battery connection, tried jumping it from the alternator and everything. what gives? anybody have any advice/experience for me here. thanks guys

Check fuses. check grounds are they tight and clean. Is the battery terminals clean and tight?

well the headlights come on when i turn them on, but if i turn the key nothing happens. I'm 100% certain its nothing to do with the battery. Im heading out now to check the fuses.

Main fuse is blown or the single black wire that feeds the ignition switch is open.

thanks man! Is there some kinda trick to gettin that fuse off that i dont know? Because that SOB is not wanting to go anywhere.

It has 3 bolts holding it on. Flip open the little doors on the side.

i have a similer problem, i turn the key, hear it try to click, but the starter wont turn, this happened after i installed the e-fan i think. after a few attempts, it will turn on. efan if piggybacked to my ignition, can this be my problem

haha, yep got the bolts off and the fuse is blown, heading out to put the new one on. that seemed to be the problem thanks.

Go to NAPA and buy new starter brushes and install them. If that does not fix it........write back.

Or get a long piece of elect wire with a female connector on one end. Attach the female to the starter solenoids small blade. Put the other end momentarily to the batt positive post. The starter should turn over. IF it just clicks, do the starter brushes as mentioned above.

If it turns over each and every time you put the end of the elect wire to the batt positive terminal, then I suggest it's a ignition switch problem. One that can't carry enough current to pull in the starter solenoid.
