I have put a S5 TII into my 1982 first gen.
The swap went well, it's not really hard. But I can't get the ignition to work!
I use a Wolf 3D V3.1 to run the engine's fuel and ignition maps, which shouldn't be very hard to get started.
I have always (been trying to get the car running for 4 months now) thought the Wolf would be the problem, but after having it checked this was ruled out: everything's ok on the Wolf side.
So I started thinking about the coilpacks (FC ones, S4), and had some extra grounding straps mounted.
I have only one sparkplug working: trailing #2. This isn't very much to run the car with
So I used the trailing output of the Wolf to trigger the leading: no result.
How can possible find out what's wrong with the coils? I already swapped them for another set, but no result.
I measured the terminals on the coils (the ones underneath the caps) and found 12V plus on all of them, is this normal?
There's also a single black wire at the leading coilpack that I can't find back on any electrical diagrams??? What is it for? It also has 12V+ on it once the ignition is turned on?
I tried to find help in the european forum, but didn't seem to find any, this is the original thread:

Since it's probable a problem with the FC coils the 2nd gen forum seems most likely to know the answer... I hope![Wink](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Possibly a cold solider joint. When i first installed my Microtech LT-8, I was getting intermitant spark, everything was wired and setup correctly. One of my ok looking solider joints was the culprit.
