ignition problem

i pulled my motor to rebuild it. I went to reconnect my fuel lines and pressure test my new fuel setup and the pump did not kick on. I am running an e6x. i took a volt meter and tested the grey wire that was supposed to be coming from the switched +12v supply from ignition source. it read 0 volts with the key in the first position. Any clue what would cause this? Could my clutch needing to be bled have anything to do with it? I accidentall disconnected its line whne i was pulling my motor. Im not sure what to start checking first. I think my first step will be to get my clutch fully functional again but if that doesnt work any ideas?....

thanks
